The company was founded just by marc and michael grondahl in dover, new hampshire, in 1992. Having worked in a local big gym, i know what to look for as far as a positive experience in a gym. Planet fitness has over 1000 locations and is the newest expanding chain of gyms. Planet fitness has dumbbells, but they often only go up to about 50 pounds or so (though each location is different).
